About ScratchSleeves:

ScratchSleeves are invaluable in coping with itchy, scratchy babies and children. The smooth silk mitts minimise damage, allowing your little one's skin time to heal, while the sleeve design ensures that ScratchSleeves stay firmly in place. Stopping babies, toddlers and young children scratching themselves can be a real challenge, especially as they get older and can take off traditional scratch mitts.

ScratchSleeves are effective for all sorts of scratching and irritation including eczema, chicken pox, scab-picking, post-operative healing, ear pulling and poking, overly enthusiastic thumb sucking and even hair pulling.

“These are amazing and my daughter has bad excema so needs to wear them during the night or she scratches until she bleeds. The top fits her body well. The sleeves are crazy long and go down to her knees! Once her hands ended there are still 3 inches of sleeve left. We have just made a game out of flapping the long sleeves. She is wearing 3-4 and is 3 and a half. She loves the super hero and the pretty bow in her hair.”

Thank you for your review. It is lovely to hear that your little one's loves the design of our Superhero PJ top! We advise ordering based on your child’s wingspan measurement. Children’s proportions vary hugely, meaning age range is not always an accurate guide to fit. Getting the correct size is important, because if they are too large then your child's hands will not sit in the mitts as intended.

“I saw these online and thought they will be helpful for my daughter who suffers from eczema, I bought the dungaree and one of the tops. The top fits well and the dungaree was small as she is taller. Tried to arrange for an exchange for the next size up/ return but this options was not available on their website as it states that you have to call or email to arrange the exchange/ return. The phone was not going through and I never got a response from the email I sent. Wish it fitted as it looked well made but had to take it to charity I had no use for it. Lovely product but poor customer service. This put me of ordering again.”

We are always happy to exchange unused items returned to us in their original condition. In order for us to create an exchange for you, we need to be contacted first via phone or email. This is the quickest way for us to deal with exchanges, as we can usually have the exchanged items sent out on the same day. We also regularly check our social media channels. Our phone lines are open during our office hours which are 11.00am to 3:00pm. I have double checked and we have no unanswered voice messages. All emails are responded to on the same day if received before 3pm. “We have been using these for about a month now. Pros: Very speedy delivery and efficient service from Scratch Sleeves (when you're ordering an item like this, it is usually an urgent requirement!). Cotton is good quality and washes well. Flat seams on shoulders and hem and labels on the outside. Neutral colours so reduced risk of irritants from dyes. Reasonable price. Release section in the seams for hands (not too easily accessible, but useful if required). Soft silk on the hands reduces damage caused by scratching to face. Cons: Unfortunately, the mitts on the tops aren't lasting well, despite having two in rotation, washing them on a handwash setting (every other day), and air drying them. One top has holes in the ends of the silk. On the other, the mittens are noticeably more narrow and restrictive. This one has a hole in the cotton inside the silk on one sleeve, and the silk is coming away from the cuff on the other. As the mitten needs to be tugged a little to release hands, the stitching at the cuff does not seem strong enough to take this. Whilst we appreciate this must mean the scratching is quite intense, we had hoped the products might last a little longer before showing such wear, especially as, unlike with the children's items, these are less likely to be grown-out of. They perhaps need stronger construction for adults? We have also found the side and sleeve seams are not flat, which is requiring a medical-grade silk layer to be worn underneath to prevent irritation. Overall, an excellent idea in theory but a bit disappointing in practice.”

“Great company, fast postage. Products that do work. 1 star less due to the items are quite fragile and are coming apart prior to washing. 1 star less for lack of variety.”

I am sorry to hear that the products are coming apart. We expect our products to last as long as they fit and to then be handed on. Please can we request that you send us images of this issue, so that we can look into this further for you. With regards to the variety, we are a small business and so cannot stock a huge range. Our products are carefully designed and a lot of thought has been put into selecting our range of products to ensure that we cater to as many needs as possible. However we are always open to suggestions.

“Item came in good time and looked great. I have a 9 month old and had ordered a 12 - 18 month size so it was a bit long on the arms but fitted well on the body, just as I had though it would. Washed and dried it following instructions, and it shrunk!! Still fits, but not for long. Great at helping to stop the scratching.”

“I have used scratchsleeves since my son was 6 months old. We recently bought him the 12-18 month size of regular scratch sleeve. There is a design modification to this size (from all earlier sizes) which has a larger top section to incorporate the shoulders. The problem with this is that it makes them baggier and our son is actually able to wriggle his arm out of them. He’s currently almost 17 months old and is large for his age. Apart from this issue, the sleeves are well made, as usual, and arrived within good time of ordering.”

“We had purchased maybe 6-7 scratch sleeves and couple of it went a bit worn off after few wash and the length at the back seems not fitting my 7 month son’s back (mostly it’s too long and it’s not stretchable, I end up need to sew a bit of stitches on the back to make the scratch sleeves fits him, if it’s lossen he can escape from the entire sleeves and scratch himself out :/”

“My son has eczema and scratches a lot at night, hence the reason to purchase scratchsleeve two piece night suit. A few suggestions, the material was a little thicker than expected and knowing that eczema prone kids cannot tolerate too much heat, it kind of defeated the purpose. Secondly, although i ordered the correct size for my child, if the pyjamas had a draw string waist, then it would help because every child has a different waist size and length. I know you have to cater for all but a draw string band would have helped everyone. Thanks.”

“They are not bad but still quite rough, would've imagined the sleeves to be softer. Very happy with their customer service and the fact they will do anything to resolve this issue for me, specially as my son is constantly scratching himself.”

“Hi there, loving the scratch sleeves we received as it stops him from scratching his head and face when he's self settling, however it's summer here in Australia and would like a thinner/cooler version such as Muslim or bamboo material, apart from that these are the best invention for little hands!”
