“I am extremely disappointed with my summerhouse from Shire Garden Buildings. Having spent £1,600, I expected a high-quality product but instead encountered numerous issues: acrylic panels cut too large and bowing in the frames, beading and other components needing to be sawn down to fit, a misaligned door that does not close properly, and roof felt supplied differently from the instructions.
My uncle, a qualified builder, assisted with the build and was shocked at the poor quality compared to other summerhouses he has installed. The supplied pins were unusable, and I had to buy replacements at my own cost.
I raised all of these issues with Shire, but despite providing photos and explanations, they have offered no compensation or meaningful resolution. Their repeated requests for more photos are unreasonable, as many of the problems had to be corrected during construction just to make the summerhouse usable.
For the cost, this product and the aftercare are unacceptable. I would not recommend Shire Garden Buildings to anyone.”

“We Love our Arbour. Not the easiest thing to put together, requiring 2 people at times to site it at the top of our garden. Now its all treated with a lovely garden shade of willow preservative with stone highlights it looks fantastic. Add in a couple of seat cushions and its the perfect place to sit and sip a glass of wine in the evening sunshine.”
“The shed I bought was really easy to build. The floor is pretty flimsy though. Every step on it I expect to go through it. The windows are ok. Despite best efforts one of them still jams and needs a shove. Same with the door. Also at every join there's small gaps.
Some minor damage from the delivery driver and the top decoration is missing.”

“Poor quality Arbour. Lots of defects in the wood.
Company only offered to replace the specific parts affected, but this would mean unscrewing or pulling apart nailed bits which would not then go back together ensuring a strong structure. Instructions were followed by the letter when assembling. Painted to protect every piece before assembling as recommended for guarantee. However, Very disappointed by non replacement of the building considering the number of faulty parts. Always read the small print! It came with a 10 year guarantee.. but it seems this would not be honoured as they would find something to reject. Would not recommend buying from this company.”

“Love the arbour I bought from Shire. Really good service and quality. The Finial was missing and I didn't realise until a month after delivery. I messaged Shire asking for another one and offered to pay (my error, I should have checked earlier). Shire sent me another one free of charge. Communication was fantastic and my garden has been transformed. Will definitely buy from them again and recommend them with no hesitation. Thank you, Shire!”
“For the money, the greenhouse was good value although the beads that you have to nail in to hold the glass in are a nightmare. I was really careful but still managed to break a pain of glass fitting the beads, so had to order a replacement at the cost of £60. I also made shelving for it and painted it grey which was a lot better colour than what was on offer so I purchased it in plain wood.”
“The shed was delivered very promptly and looks very nice constructed.
I am however disappointed with the amount of knots which 5 or 6 are loose or fallen out leading to water ingress from the first rain which occured. The are other areas of knots occurring at plank edges which are showing day light. I have used silicon to seal these.”

“It's not too badly made for the money but they could improve the fit and quality of the panel joints. I had to adapt the central beam to make the sides pull in level and get the roof flat and the joint at the end panels is pretty poor. See photos.”
