About The Thompson Method:

The Thompson Method is a gentle, evidence based method towards a gentle birth and pain-free breastfeeding experience. It was created by Dr Robyn Thompson, a midwife with over 45 years experience who was awarded a PhD for her research into why so many women were being discharged from hospital with painful nipple trauma and other breastfeeding complications such as engorgement & mastitis.

The Thompson Method challenges the forceful breastfeeding techniques, linked with painful nipple trauma, that are commonly taught in most hospitals. It’s for ALL women who want to breastfeed, but particularly those giving birth in the hospital system because it offers a gentle alternative to help women AVOID the most common and painful breastfeeding complications.

“When I had my first daughter I wasn’t able to breastfeed. I purchased this program back then. Now I’ve just had baby number 2, and we are now exclusively breastfeeding. We have had some issues along the way but the ladies in this group and Dr Robyn has helped me achieve this goal. The empowerment this program gives you to make sure you are well informed about your choices during pregnancy, birth and postpartum. I cannot speak anymore highly about this safe space and the women in it.”

“The Thompson Method Breastfeeding program was the best prenatal purchase I made hands down. The cost is affordable and the program really is priceless. The fact that you can get continued support on the private FB group has been a lifesaver. I’m a first time mom and my baby came unexpectedly a few weeks early. I had to manage breastfeeding, bottle supplementation and pumping. I was able to do it successfully without trauma or infection. I was able to go on to exclusively breastfeed and then adjust again when going back to work mixing pumping/bottles and breastfeeding thanks to this program and the supportive FB group. My original goal was to try to breastfeed for 6 months. Next week my little girl will be 8 months old and I don’t see us stopping anytime soon thanks to this program. I’m extremely grateful!”

“I want to take this opportunity to thank Robyn Thompson for creating this wonderful program and sharing her knowledge and experience. I (FTM) am 5 months into my journey with this precious girly and able to exclusively breastfeed her (also while on a big day out and about). It started out rocky and I had many moments of defeat contemplation however every issue I had I would refer to this page and search for guidance as well as follow this programs recommendations. “Already having 2 kiddos and managing breastfeeding, I knew with my 3rd I didn’t want pain, low supply or having to kick my legs out during latching that I thought I was going to lose a nipple. This program taught me things nurses in the hospital didn’t even know and helped me to have a pain free amazing bonding experience with my daughter. Still going strong almost 2 years now with her and loving the amazing support along our journey from the whole team. Every mom deserves this knowledge and support! Best thing I ever did was come across the Thompson Method and I tell everyone I met about it! This Knowledge is PRICELESS!!!!!!! Your future child will thank you!!!”

“The knowledge and information I gained from The Thompson Method is irreplaceable! My daughter and I just passed our one year mark and are still going strong! Breastfeeding was a struggle in the beginning but with Dr. Thompson’s tips, I was able to overcome everything with very little discomfort. I can’t recommend this program enough!”

“I can’t thank the Thompson Method enough for their support and education. I was set on breastfeeding and fortunately found it while I was pregnant. The pre-delivery videos were so different than others I found. Calm and informative. When it came to breastfeed, I had ZERO pain. When taking the nurse advice in the hospital, I got a cracked nipple, when I went back to the Thompson Method, I never had anything even discomforting again. It’s been over a year of breastfeeding and I tell every pregnant woman I know about how the TM made all the difference. THANK YOU!!”

“E•I•G•H•T M•O•N•T•H•S E•B•F I couldn’t be more pleased with Dr. Robyn’s content that fully prepared me to successfully breastfeed my son. Eight months together and no plans of ending this wonderful experience. I recommend this to every new mom interested in breastfeeding. I’m so thankful! We had our fair share of some obstacles to overcome (oral ties) but with this method we persevered EBF, without it I’m convinced I wouldn’t have succeeded! Thank you for educating me on having an intervention free labor/birth as well as all the knowledge to breastfeed. I’m forever grateful. If my son could thank you I believe he would, too! ☺️ My wish is every new mother and child are gifted this method. In the future it just may be a gift I give. 😍”

“Thank you, Dr Thompson, for helping us make it to 6 months breastfeeding. I supplemented with formula the first few weeks, so maybe not EBF, but I’m not upset. None of my immediate family breastfed except my mother-in-law, so I feel incredibly blessed & grateful to have this accomplishment. God has definitely helped me along the way as well.”

“Honestly, I'm amazed by how incompetent lactation consultants were at the hospital where I delivered (and I've heard similar stories from others too). On day one I had nipple damage because of the horrible advice I was given. On day 2 I decided to stop listening to their advice and referred back to the Thompson Method program. He's latched perfectly ever since. I am so grateful to have this information. I know my breastfeeding journey would have ended early without this program. ”

“Kicking goals!!! After a crazy two and a half months with battle after battle I did not think I’d ever get the hang of breastfeeding let alone breastfeeding while out and about. Well here I am breastfeeding feeding my little boy William on his first trip to the beach ☺️ I am so so grateful for Dr Robyn for all her knowledge and advice and Jill for all your help 💕💕 I couldn’t have made it this far without out you. I had a really rough start to my breastfeeding journey with nipple trauma to the point where I wouldn’t let my baby anywhere near my nipples. I knew there was something needed to be done when I pushed him away from me. So I started pumping and bottle feeding while in hospital to let my nipples heal. Once home I continued the pumping and I not only found it really draining and that it took precious time away from my baby but I also felt that I wanted to be breastfeeding so badly. I did start again with a nipple shield but I couldn’t do more than one breastfeed a day without experiencing pain. After some really helpful advice from Jill and an amazing rescue session with Dr Robyn we have been exclusively breastfeeding with no pumping to bottle feed for 3 weeks and I am just over the moon!!!! 💙 I cannot thank both of you enough for all your help! You have changed our journey into such a positive one and changed feeding from a chore, to a beautiful bonding time between my little man and I, and I am just so grateful 🥰🥰 I can’t wait for our follow up appointment with Dr Robyn tomorrow 💞”

“We celebrated my first goal of breastfeeding for 12 weeks 🥳 This is a big deal for me! With my first child I wasn't able to breastfeed successfully and I didn't respond to pumping so I had a rather heartbreaking experience. There was someone in one of my mom groups who mentioned she couldn't breastfeed her first 2 children, but succeeded with the third thanks to the Thompson Method. It was her story that convinced me to try this method and I'm so glad I did. I cannot thank you enough for all of the knowledge and guidance. It has been an amazing experience ❤”

“For anyone struggling right now...please consider getting this program... I'm a first time Mom I thought I knew everything there was to know about breastfeeding. I've been humbly eating my words for the past 3 weeks. We’ve had a bad latch, breast refusal, cracked, bleeding nipples, thrush, mastitis, and a whole lot of tears. I was on the verge of giving up before I decided to purchase the program. It's been 4 days and I can already see light at the end of the tunnel. The pain is subsiding, my baby is no longer breast refusing and I'm sooooo happy. Thank you, thank you, thank you to Dr Robyn and the wonderful breastfeeding support team who have answered all of my questions and helped me get back on track. I know we have a little way to go, but knowing that I have your support has given me full confidence in my ability to be able to nourish my baby. “At the end of this month my son will turn one. That means one year exclusively breastfeeding all thanks to Dr Robyn and her hard-working team. I found the breastfeeding program three months before my due date and I had never felt more empowered and prepared. I feel so lucky. We were able to achieve our three golden hours. “No questions here, just a happy momma! Here is my Ozzie boy, now 6 months old and still going strong with breastfeeding thanks to this method! He is my 4th and last child, and the only one I was successful with breastfeeding for! The longest I lasted before drying up was 3 months with my 3rd baby, and all of the others I had shallow latches and nipple trauma, resulting in me stopping after a couple of weeks. SO incredibly thankful for this group and this method for giving me the knowledge and courage to be an advocate for myself and my baby!”

“Just want to say how grateful I am for this program and the support groups help. My little man is 4 weeks old and has had a perfect latch since birth.   He loves boobie time and is packing on the weight. The midwives at the hospital and my maternal child health nurse are simply amazed that I haven’t had any breastfeeding troubles and no pain at all. “I am so glad I invested in the Thompson Method breastfeeding program. I breastfed 3 babies before finding this program. All 3 breastfeeding attempts were full of stress, tears and frustration. The program is very well structured. I found it to be easy to follow and understand. Rewatching videos at your convenience is a big plus, and having access to the 24/7 support community is a huge bonus. Using this program, I was able to enter into breastfeeding baby #4 with such confidence. She is now two weeks old and we are enjoying a unique bond that I didn't get to experience with my first 3. I am so grateful to have this program and am looking forward to many more months of breastfeeding bliss ❤️”

“Being a FTM I was nervous about breastfeeding and had no idea how things would work out for me. I purchased this program very early in my pregnancy because I was always told breastfeeding hurts and it’s a lot of hard work. Well today I am happy to say that we are 8 months EBF and still going strong.   No nipple shields, no bottles. Just 100% mammas milk. I know I wouldn’t have been successful had it not being for this program and The Thompson Method. If anyone is out there sitting on the fence. “Thank you Dr Robyn and your team for all of the amazing resources, information and in particular the support. I had my little man on November 11 and despite the setback of an emergency csection my adorable baby and I have an an incredible start to breastfeeding. At his 2 week check up he had already well surpassed his birth weight. My first breastfeeding journey did not start off this well. So thank you and I look forward to the next 12 months and beyond breastfeeding or for as long as he wants to.”
