“Horrible company. They use bullying tactics and break the law. Look up I HATE YELL.COM on Facebook with 2.5k members and read all about these load of cowboys. They try and make out as a business you don't have a cooling off period when in fact by law you do. Avoid at all costs!!!!! Outdated service.”

“If only there was an option for no stars. I cannot stress enough to people, do not use yell for your marketing/advertising. They miss sell, fill you with empty promises, sign you in to a 12 month contract, offer you no help to actually grow your business and are generally rude when you ring up. DO NOT USE!!”

“Please think very carefully before believing any business reviews on Yell - they cannot be trusted. I discovered that a specific company had 4 recent false 5 star reviews written on Yell and reported the reviews to be told there was nothing they could do!”

“Yell is ruining and illegally destroying people's lives. The extent of seriously flawed activity online from reading over 50 reviews that are obviously genuine on a plethora of levels is simply astonishing. Yell are nothing more than a bunch of crooks exploiting and threatening so many people. Trading standards, Ofcom and the government i have emailed accordingly”

“Waste of money don’t use I am a soul trader and wanted to make that next step in getting my business more professional and noticed using a website. I contacted yell along side of their companies who could build my site. Yell where not the cheapest by far, but they offered me the world. Said they loved my items and they would have my website placed at the top page listings on Google. They showed me a few website designs they had previously done and after a very lengthy discussion and the offer of a £499 discount if I agreed there and then, I opted for them to help my business move to its next step. Sounds positive so far right.... I had been told that my website designer would be in touch at a time convenient to me and we agreed a suitable time and date. They never rang....I called the sales person and we re arranged for the web designer to get in touch, after a month of waiting I got that call. After yet another lengthy discussion about my business which was exactly the same as previously, which meant they hadn’t discussed my needs at all,I thought I had the website what I wanted and that would escalate my business to the next level. I received the email to say my website was built and I could now take a look before it went live. I couldn’t wait to see all the money I had spent had been worth while. When I saw my website I burst into tears, it wasn’t the contemporary sleek professional Website I had so longed for, it was old fashioned, out dated and very poorly designed, so much so my 90 year old ludite Grandmother could have done better. I felt let down, disappointed with even the basic aspects not even added like a basket for clients to check out. I complained and I did get a “senior creative director” to re design my site. A child still could have done better but it was an improvement on the wood effect back ground that made my site look like it belonged in the 80s. I have spent a hours of my time re designing and adding onto my website, time taken away from my business. Not what I wanted. After 3 years I have not had any sales, nor have I had any emails other than spam. My listing isn’t at the top of google and is placed below free listings. Yell promised me the world and all I got was nothing with over 3K money wasted. I would definitely go else where and hopefully you aren’t sucked into making the same mistakes I did. If you have plenty of time on you’re hands to re do the mistakes from your web designer, then Yell is definitely for you. I had done some research and I went with a reputable firm, or so I though. They are anything but.”

“Bullying tactics Got talking into using them even though I told them several times my business was in trouble and I couldn't afford the payments two months later and my business ended and IM still being harassed and threatened By yell PLEASE PLEASE STAY AWAY”

“Had a Yell website for years, (cost a fortune for no return) missed the last payment when I cancelled account. Been hassled today about taking action against me for approx. £40, ( the payment is less than two weeks late) despite my concerns around the pandemic and whether I will actually be able to pay my rent, mortgage and feed my family for the foreseeable future, or have a business. Nice one Yell you bunch of hideous heartless wastes of space. Wouldn't mind so much but the service has been so awful I could write a book about it. You owe me far more that I owe you..... YOU SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN”

“I chose YELL to create my website in hopes to get customers in, ever since I did I have not gained 1 customer! It has been 12 months now and I have paid so much money. All they care about is money and what is worse is I am tied to them, they force you to be tied as soon as you sign their contract. It really disgusts me to know that they honestly do not care as long as I pay them monthly for ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! I deeply regret my decision with yell and I will make sure I let everyone I know not to make the same mistake I have.”

“Yell salesman refused to tell me where he found my business card. Even though i asked him several times, he refused to tell me. I felt very uncomfortable when I just knew he was a total bully and a liar!! There was nothing of quality about him, quite the ruffian. He used my toilet twice, and twice he dropped the lid crashing it down on my Roca porcelain ware!! Record that for training purposes and play it back for the boardroom to get a good belly laugh! Vile salesman with dinosaur attitude. I hated every minute of it. Avoid like Corona-19!!!”

“I recently had a meeting with Yell and whilst the lady who came to see me was very nice and also the lady in head office in Belfast was helpful I decided not to use there services based on discussions with people who had used the service in the past and also on reviews. Since then I have been bombarded with call's from Belfast asking me again and again why and what else they could do to change my mind culminating in today with SIX calls before I picked up. I then instructed the young man that he must remove my number and stop calling. He would not take no for for an answer so that in the end I hung up on him. This then resulted in him ringing me back 4 times one after another till I again had to answer as it was blocking my number for business call's. He again launched into his speech until I again had to tell him to stop calling me or I will involve the police as this is now harassment and put the phone down again. I can also tell you Yell that you have again rang me 5 times this afternoon!!!! This really has to stop as this is the worst experience I have ever experienced in all my years in business! You will be aware Yell that all your call's are recorded so go and have a listen for yourself. Discussed!!!!!!”

“We used Rob Roy Removals (Rugby) to move house. After the move we found a vintage display cabinet damaged, a mirror broken and a traditional silver charm bracelet missing from its presentation box. We understood the removal company had insurance which covered the move up to £25,000.00. Although we followed the verbal instructions of the owner of the company, Gerry, on preparing for the move, he subsequently claimed the insurance did not cover jewellery! Gerry arranged to come and discuss the damage and loss, but failed to turn up at the appointed time and we have not heard from him since. If you consider using this company I advise insisting on a written and signed contract with all terms and conditions clearly set out. Police Crime Reference Number: 23/8797/20”

“Met with a couple of lovely people to help get things moving. They were so informative and friendly. However once I signed up, the customer service really went downhill. £125 a month for a year to have great service at the start then unreturned phone calls, constant swaps on account managers and when I cancelled my contract, they claimed not to get it. After all that, still charging me a final bill for what feels like not much at all. A real shame because I loved the service in the beginning.”

“Yell is one of the worst companies I've ever had the displeasure of encountering. I'd recently become self employed and they called me up and made me feel like they could help. Nothing they promised came to fruition and I got tied into a contract of £80 a month which I couldn't get out of without being threatened with legal action. YELL IS A SCAM please save yourself the pain.”

“I wish I could leave a review with 10 minus stars! They absolutely outright lie about what their advertising can do to reel you in. They then trap you are you in a 12 month contract with no mention of your statutory rights. No leads come from the advertising. I rang up to complain told its my fault and I need a Yell website. The stats they show you only exist in yell land. Its all BS. You should be ashamed Yell you are targeting small businesses, that work really hard for a living. A days pay a month goes to you for nothing in return. Avoid Yell, read other reviews they all say the same.”

“Yell are a disgrace. Avoid, avoid, avoid. Lie to reel you in, it's all absolute BS. They cant get you any work, just steal your money every month. customer service is a joke. Ask them to make sure you are getting what you pay for, of course you are they said. Look for my VIP situated business in an area they are contracted to put me in, 43rd down the list!”

“Please dont waste your money I have never had one call via YELL or any other feed they supply. Only through the counselling directory. I agree with all the other views I have thrown my money down the drain using YELL. No highter up the google rankings, still on page 14 (which is a waist of time). PLEASE DONT BE COND BY THEM LIKE I WAS! AVOID,AVOID,AVOID”

“Notified them of a fake business at my home address. I've been in contact 3 times. They have proof that I really do live here. No action. Any scammer can put a business ad up with them. Apparently (and quote from Yell!) they take the advertisers "word" ... not to mention only a mobile phone number.... My actual proof is not taken as anything. Conversation on chat solves nothing. And they haven't got back to me.”
