“I already have landlord cover; I wanted the same for my own home. The website asked me to use my account - but I was not able to do this. In the end I had to use my work email address in order to get cover for my home.”
“Like most, I have little idea how good their services are since the company is very keen to solicit reviews immediately after sign-up, which was however very straightforward.
I would say that:
1) an annual, rather than just monthly, payment option would be helpful.
2) the price gap between 1 and 2 year contracts seems out of proportion (larger) to that between 2 and 3 year contracts, but at least both those options do exist!
3) although it was stated that those with existing contracts elsewhere would have a seamless transition, there did not appear to be any method of actually confirming this, e.g. if I had indeed needed to make a call-out on Christmas Day (2 days after I had transferred.)
4) The indicated boiler service date does not appear to be tied into the due date based on previous contracts.
Background: I had been with British Gas for many years, yet another price hike comes in (despite great offers for new customers), now shall I haggle yet again (given that I have a far newer boiler than previously)? This time I thought that I would test the actual service availability and started an online request for a call-out for an imaginery case where I had neither heating nor hot water - 15 days, not a great deal of use to me in winter, no matter what discount they would have given me, so onto the comparison sites...
Since 'YourRepair's reviews on their preferred review site tend to be given immediately after sign-up, they thus did not provide any assistance and so I switched to Trust Pilot, these reviews were generally very good, though the bad ones were really bad. Each bad review, was however, met with a promise to resolve the matter, though I did not locate any where the review was subsequently updated to show this?
...well, as a new customer that is all that I can say, but as mentioned Trust Pilot has a LOT of very favourable reviews based on actual post-transition experience!”
“Just signed up for a 3 year fixed deal for a 20 year old boiler. Rang to check boilers of this age eligible, answered within a couple of minutes, time will tell what the level of service is, if I get a boiler or heating fault.”
Hi David Twigg,
I’m sorry to hear your comments. We’d like to take a look into this for you.
