“Initial tour was cancelled due to shortage of numbers. Advised to join a different tour & the day was very rushed. Taken to a place that wasn’t open to visitors due to maintenance (known to tour), which only gave the opportunity to take some photos in front of the building ? This impacted on the next stop where extra time to explore could have happened. Lunch option was horrible. Taking us to a local shopping centre with very limited selection. Again this was for ease because of time restraints.”

“We arrived by ship, we booked Zealander tours ourselves. We were advised where to meet and as promised, they were there to greet us. Our guide Steve was a really nice guy full of lots of info along the way. Steve had a great sense of humour and we had a lot of laughs. The Te Puia Maori Cultural Centre was a great experience, the geysers were a sight to see, amazing geothermal park. Great talk on the Maori history. Then onto the Polynesian Spa. We had Deluxe tickets, so got sat in some beautiful natural mineral baths and gaze over the lake. Steve bought us our lunch, arranged a pick up time and was there at the agreed time to pick us up, we had plenty of time in the pools. As we were ahead of schedule, he took us to some additional places. We saw the Redrock Treewalk and he took us to an area with beautiful waterfalls. On the way back to the ship we were keen to see Tauranga's beach area on opposite side of the port. Steve was more than happy to take us there. Absolutley beautiful beaches , cafes bars etc. Unfortunately being on a cruise, only one day here. Steve made sure we were back in plenty of time to board the ship. Five star experience with Steve. Excellent day! Thanks Steve!”

“I wish I could give this review more than 5 stars because it is worth it! I searched and searched for a tour to take us to Hobbiton and this was by far the best tour for us! Zealandier Tours was easy to book, easy to pay and as discussed in their confirmation, there were tour signs for us available right at the port exit from our NCL Cruise. We had our names on a board and easily found our bus driver Rolf! We confirmed our 20 guests and were on the way 1 minute early because everyone on our tour was on time. Rolf was a great guide and very informative. Even though he had 10 people on an 11 am Hobbiton tour and 10 people on a 12:10 p.m. Hobbiton tour which could have been a mess, he had colored lanyards to keep everyone organized and gave very specific meeting arrangments and time for bathrooms, shopping etc. In addition, because again, after Hobbiton, everyone was back to the bus on time, Rolf treated the entire bus to a scoop of New Zealand made Tip Top Hokey Pokey ice cream! If you haven't tried it, it's a MUST have!!! This tour and Hobbiton dream come true fulfilled my bucket list item and the day couldn't have been better! Back to Middle Earth for me but I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this tour, this company and Rolf as a guide to anyone of any age! Thanks for the perfect day Rolf and the Zealandier Tour!!!!”

“Zealandier was very quick to respond to my itinerary inquiries and they adhered to their schedule and made sure I was able to return to my ship with time to spare. Our guide John was congenial and informative throughout our journey to Hobbiton and drove safely throughout the entire trip!”

“It was a pleasure to go with zealander, y he staff were well informed,freiendly the finishing touch was Rolf our cour driver who was under the pump to get us back to the ship on time,he had to cope with major traffic jams also a car accident, but with help from his boss we got back to the ship with about a minute to spare. Well done Zealander”

“From booking to being on the tour, Zealandier Tours was absolultely amazing! When we booked, Jan reached out to let us know that due to our short time in port, our itinerary would have to be severely reduced to make it work. I greatly apprecaited this honesty and asked for their opinion on what we should do during that time. Jan sent four different shceudles with ideas. Once we got there, the instructions made it very easy to find them at port. Our tour guide Steve was very attentive to what we wanted to see and our time back to port. He also knew it was our honeymoon and we had a small bottle of champagne at the beach with a few choclates. He was also a wonderful photographer and got many photos of us at all the sites! He answered every question we had and it was a wonderful day.”

“Our day trip to Hobbiton was great. Pick up was on time, driver was friendly and knowledgeable during the drive there and back. The drive was broken up with a short walk to a lovely waterful and toilet stop. Once there, she made sure that we all had some time at the gift shop and that we made it onto the correct tour for the actual tour of Hobbiton. We were also all given a treat of ice cream on the trip back. All in all, I would book with Zealandier every time.”

“The tour of Hobbiton was fantastic. Our guide from Tauranga was very knowledgable and very friendly. When we transferred to the Hobbiton bus our new guide was also very professional. On site our guide who walked us through the village displayed an exceedingly high level of professionalism and humour. This was a once in a lifetime experience which I would highly recommend.”
