Recently tested the new Catbells PRO Aluminium Z-Poles on a lengthy, steep mountain hike. Firstly the set up is so quick and easy. They're also very light yet sturdy.
The hand grips fit perfectly and don't slip (even in severe wet conditions!)
I could definitely appreciate the benefit of using poles for ascending and decending.
