Having never been to Central Asia and also never to a former Soviet bloc country I had no idea what to expect. We experienced good roads, bad roads, mountains, deserts, cities, villages, "first world" and "third world", ancient culture and modern society, everything you could imagine in one country. Our trip leader, Nazim, was phenomenally knowledgeable and helpful. The food was good (got a little tired of kabobs, but don't miss the Plov) the sights were spectacular. We rode about 45 mi/day which was just right, though there were days into a strong headwind when that seemed excessive. I'd do this trip again in a heartbeat.
