An alternative use for these hoops - I now have a very useful leaf composting bin. I cut 4 rods in half and then used T-connectors to create a cylinder with 4 straight rods along its length, adding a 20mm semi-rigid plastic mesh to the base and sides with cable ties. Makes a leaf bin approx 60cm in diameter. Very happy with the results - the rods and connectors are sturdy and strong enough for the job but have a good bit of flex in them - though making 2 rods into a full circle is probably at the limit of much they can be bent without stressing the connectors too far. I've just ordered some more parts to make a second bin, so I can have one composting while the other is used to collect new season leaves.
