I choose to purchase a screamer dual hook after doing a lot of research on all the different brands and types. Tested it for the first time last night, and my wife was "ooh-my-god pleased", to say the least. Wish we had bought one many years ago!!! I chose to mount it between the 2x6 ceiling joists in our home, due to an already-installed ceiling fan. I used top-flange joist hangers that were for 4x4 beams. Screwed and bolted it all together, then crawled into the attic, and bolted the assembly in between my joists. I purchased yoga-style loops from Amazon. Drilled and lag bolted them through the 4x4 beams with 5" long bolts. Since the room is a guest bedroom, I also purchased some round ceiling plastic electrical boxes. I cut the backside of them off with a hacksaw, thus exposing the hook when installed in the ceiling. The hooks are recessed in the ceiling boxes, allowing them to be stealthy! I think it looks better than the smoke detector trick. After cutting the holes in the ceiling, and installing the round box with the backside cut off, I noticed there was a cold air leak from the ceiling. I grabbed a can of spray foam, headed back to the attic and sealed the area. Then I found some white 4" round ceiling box covers, which will slide on and off when they need to be covered. All extra supplies were sourced at home depot. Yes, I may have overthought and overbuilt our setup, but I wanted to make sure it would stand the test of time. It is going to be used quite frequently for many years to come... This swing is the best and safest on the market. If you haven't purchased a swing, you should, it is a game-changer!
