If you are like me and really enjoy "7 Wonders:Duel" you may be wondering whether it is worth buying this LOTR adaptation of the same game. I watched a few reviews, which were all very positive, so I decided to give it a go. I can confirm that this has replaced the original 7 Wonders: Duel in my collection. If you like LOTR and the original Duel then I strongly recommend getting this game. This game simplifies some of the frustrating elements, e.g. the money, and excels in the changes to the combat system. I would often find that the original Duel end game was decided on victory points and perhaps it wasn't balanced correctly to enable more victories through combat and science. However, this game feels (from a limited number of playthroughs) that victories will be diversified and more exciting. In fact they have removed victory points entirely from the game, which is clearly why different methods to victory are more important. You won't be disappointed if you buy this game.
