The Beretta 92FS has always been one of my all-time favorite pistols. It's old school, yes—but it still performs like a dream. The only downside? Being a product of the 1980s, it was never designed with red dot optics in mind. For a long time, I thought I had to live without that upgrade… until I stumbled across the EGW Optic Mount.
I decided to take a chance on it, and I couldn’t be happier. The mount installs directly into the dovetail rear sight channel, and the installation was quick and straightforward. No permanent modifications required. It looks clean and well-integrated with the classic lines of the 92FS, which was a big deal for me.
Once installed, it allowed me to mount my RMR-pattern optic securely to the top of the slide. I took it to the range, and it performed flawlessly—solid lock-up, held zero, and gave me the precision and speed that red dots are known for.
One of the biggest perks is that it’s completely reversible. If I ever want to return my Beretta to its original iron sight setup, it’s as easy as removing the mount and reinstalling the factory rear sight. No harm done.
If you're like me and love your 92FS but wish you could modernize it without making permanent changes, this EGW mount is the answer. It's a fantastic, low-risk upgrade that breathes new life into a classic.
