Firstly Evie is not the vario option but the Rohloff version!! Secondly I can cycle where I like now, without worrying about my health. I’m still tinkering with modes, as in which one do I prefer and when such as Turbo, Auto, Tour + etc. My only limitation is the range which when you think about it was the same for a standard bike as the range was you yourself. I’ve found I can get 25-30miles on turbo and I’m not the lightest of riders and this includes panniers. She sticks to road, cycle paths in wind, rain or sun like glue, I have the comfort handle bar and everything is within easy reach, I added a fidlock bottle to the rack for ease of refuelling. The front rack for me is a must, handy having a bag on the front but also for presence on the road. I test rode one without the rack and I definitely prefer mine with the rack. The Rohloff hub is awesome, a wide range of gears for every event, you do have to remember to not pedal to change gear for a smooth transition. I feel safe on the roads as she commands the road space. Why did I get the Rohloff?? Because if i was going to spend the amount of money these bikes cost I wanted the best gearing and when i tested the Enviolo it wasn’t for me. I also wanted a gear hub that I could go anywhere with and do anything with and my research suggested the Rohloff was the hub for this. So far I’ve only done commutes but really want to get out on a longer ride when personal circumstances allow. All in all my experience with Fully Charged in particular Tristan at Fully Charged Silverstone has been outstanding, I was able to arrange two visits to test ride practically every bike available different styles and sizes to really fine tune. I went in not looking for a step through but so glad I did with my health and lack of flexibility. Tristan listened to what I thought I wanted and said it’s likely you think this is what you need but in reality it’s not and you’ll find you need something different and just by test riding the many bikes that is exactly what happened. If you are looking for a cheap ebike then these are not for you. They are anything but cheap, however there are various models at reasonable price points depending on your needs, they are an investment, they are well built, and above all else they are great fun to ride. I look forward to the morning commute as I get to ride my bike. Monday mornings never felt so great!!
