It’s Percussion and like all their products they are designed to be used in tough environments. These boots didn’t disappoint. They’ve had daily use in the Peak District for 7 days. When I first lifted them out of no nonsense packing from NFC I was slightly surprised at the weight, expecting them to be lighter. That robust weight is fine, they don’t feel heavy when wearing. The first thing I noticed as my foot placed in the boot was the comfort under the arch of my foot. A good start. Second was the warmth, excellent. Third was the nice fit around my calf. I don’t have particularly large calves, so the nice fit was pleasent and warm. I wear tapered percussion trousers so the fit was easy. I’d say the full zip might have to be relaxed a little if you have a large calf or intend to wear regular jeans. When zipped, they fit my leg. The top strap branding is there for the branding I think. The clasp offers little when the strap is pulled. I’ve walked 3 miles in them in one go. My feet were comfy and not damp with moisture. The sizing was correct for a normal boot sock. TBH you don’t need a thicker sock, just buy decent boot socks to keep your feet warm and comfy. I donated my Le Chameau wellies to my son for his uni course, giving me the perfect excuse to UPGRADE my wellies to Percussion at a fab price.
