This is our second trip to Defenders Retreat and now we are planning another for the end of October. My husband and I have renamed this tent to our Honey Hole. Although it isn't one of the overlook locations, it's the perfect spot for families camping longer than a couple of nights. We stayed here for my son's Fall Break and had the most incredible time!
First of all, you will love any tent at the retreat, they are all set up in great locations at a good distance from each other. The land is absolutely beautiful! Wildlife is all around and you are close to the interstate and in a great location to 3 state parks.
As for this tent, it is a must if you love the seclusion aspect of camping which at times can be really hard to find. It's tucked away in its own little cove surrounded by beautiful trees. We had a blast playing ball, and board games, cooking over the fire and enjoying each other's company after a day of hiking trails close by. The Haunted Hollow at the front of the property is a must-do as well. Even my 6-year old had a blast at the hollow! We can't wait to go back in a couple of weeks. You will not be disappointed!
*Oh and I highly recommend booking one of the Coleman sponsored tents. We loved the extras they include and actually tried out their little propane grill for the last breakfast and I loved it.
