I was able in a few hours to program this device as a readout to my temperature/air quality sensor.
The device updates (monochrome) in 2-3 seconds, and the provided example code was a good basis for my readout. Its power consumption is minimal - the Pi Zero W to which it is attached runs all day from a 5000mAh battery pack.
I'm very pleased with this device, and would definitely recommend it. Even during lockdown it arrived the day after I ordered it, there are some good examples so it is displaying something within an hour of unpacking, after which it's down to the imagination of the programmer.
NB, you must have a GPIO header on your Pi - recommend Pimoroni's Pi Zero with a pre-soldered header.
