50/10 stars and will absolutely come back next year with a bigger group!
As a single woman, I only went with my tiny senior dog looking for a quiet and safe, but fun adventure. But my extended family was extremely jealous of the trip photos/videos so we're looking forward to having them join us next year. It was the perfect short getaway from the city that was both relaxing and exciting/educational with the added farm tour.
Kevin provided all the essentials needed outside of the normal Tenttr kit (ex. heater, extremely clean porta potty + wash station, clean water, and plenty of firewood), and he made sure to check in with us here and there without being obnoxious. He always made sure we had things we needed and were comfortable! Also, this particular location was MUCH larger and prettier than in the photos. There's plenty of room for more tents/people.
Our stay unfortunately had some bad weather with cold temps dropping to the 30s at night + rain/heavy winds, but the heater provided in the tent worked extremely well to the point that i'd consider coming later into the fall and not worry about heat. But outside of the one day of bad weather, Veteran's Day week was the perfect time for Fall Foliage in this part of Virginia, and the farm was perfectly orange, red, and yellow (would recommend for Fall photos!!).
Then when the rain let up, we made sure to take advantage of the educational tour of the farm! We (mostly me since my dog is deaf) learned a ton about their wonderful regenerative/clean/humane farming, and met all of the super friendly animals. There was everything from goofy emus, to baby chicks, to thicc ponies.
If you're considering this spot for a camping trip, don't hesitate!!
