The projector performs exactly as I expected. The light is as bright as a TV which allows the screen to be visible even during the daytime. Finally a bright projector that is not the cost of a used car!
The big opportunity is that the projector will flip between HDR and Cinema mode resulting in a moment of black between settings. While this is not necessarily the projector’s fault, and has to do with the signal being sent to the projector from another device, it is incredibly frustrating to have to fine tune the settings to get it to stop.
When using a receiver it would be nice to shut off the projectors ability to send a signal to the receiver and rather have it as a device that only receives an input without anything being output. The receiver’s auto source detection feature is often confused when it detects the projector is on, even though another device like Apple TV or PS5 is the primary source of content. It would be nice to have a mode where the projector does not output anything when connected to the HDMI 1 port and makes it become a monitor rather than another unnecessary smart device with streaming abilities.
Those small technicalities are not worth discounting the quality of what the primary function is. Well worth the price for 4K projection and incredibly bright output!
