The product was well put together and once organised (the wall), was reasonably self-explanatory. In the case of our Kura, I attached this kit to our Health and Puberty unit (Year 7 & 8 students) that we were looking at - so it fitted in well with the Ko wai au? Who am I? aspect of the unit but was also complementary to self worth - Te Tipu Me Te Huri O Te Tangata - Growing & Changing, Ngā whanaungatanga - Relationships - including relationships with ourselves, and accepting who we are.
The class was able to use the cards each morning during our whakahihiko (check in) time and over time, learnt to share with their peers in a whole class environment. We had a motto of 'what does in the classroom stays in the classroom' so learners were more comfortable sharing. The books were not possibly utilised as well as they could be - but that is on me, not in the quality of the book.
