“To be honest, I was a little disappointed with the service from 99 bucks on my Recent few visits.
We took the bike in to get a new quick release rod and we purchased this very quickly but then my son said that there was some issues with brakes and the gears were not changing properly. The bike was taken to the service area and some minor adjustments were made and then the bike was given back to my son and when he sat on it the brakes were still poor. The gears did not change properly and he noticed that the tyres were relatively flat..
No suggestion was made to have the bike serviced at this point.
I would’ve thought handing a bike back that has potentially dangerous issues with it and not saying anything could be dangerous.
I suggested that we book the bike in for a service as quickly as possible to fix all of the issues and they said that although they were busy, they would try and fit In a service ASAP.
Upon collection of the bike 3-4 days later, we noticed that some break cables had been installed but the gears were not changing correctly. The steering wheel was not straight. The brakes did not work properly and the tyres were still not inflated.. This came with an invoice of $105 and so I asked about what exactly had been done to the bike for the service.
I was ther notified that the bike had not been serviced but only had the brake cables installed which I thought was extremely expensive for $105. When I asked the girl at the register, she said she knew nothing about bike servicing and really only worked the reception area
Another appointment had to be made for a complete Service and an additional $105 needed to be paid for repairs that needed to happen to the bicycle.
Once again, I was disappointed that we had been given bicycle back that clearly was not roadworthy or Safe for my son to ride.
I can only suggest that maybe each bike should be actually ridden and tested prior to giving it back to anyone To avoid any unsafe vehicle being handed back to customers.”
