Easy to use and great value. Still haven’t run the battery flat so don’t know if it lives up to the battery claims after 8 hour is shut below 50% halfway having arrived with 87% But if it holds it should last at between 24-30 hours

Wahoo Elemnt Ace - Review Despite some significant flaws, I like this computer & I have owned & used Garmin 1030, 1040, 1050; Wahoo Roam V1 & 2 & Karoo 2. There have been lots of comments about its size/weight & neither of those two things worry me. On the latter … if I ever lose about 10kg, I might be concerned about the extra weight. Until then an extra 50 - 100 grams … insert hilarious laughter emoji here. As far as the size is concerned, I think it actually allows for a good screen aspect ratio i.e. more square. With respect to the wind sensor … I’m also conflicted as both its reliability AND Wahoo’s decision how to display the information are problematic. The Ace seems very keen to insist that you have no wind or a tailwind when at times it sure does feel like a headwind (the up to 3 second delay does not help). How the information is displayed is also too complicated for an oxygen starved brain ☺️. Don’t bother telling me what speed I’m doing relative to the wind, just tell me whether it is a head or tailwind & at how many km/h it is blowing i.e. just give me the delta. The most useful way of using this hard & software feature is to turn on (if not already on) the Wahoo colour coding option (green = tail & red = head) & then you get a nice (if somewhat laggy) indicator of whether there is a head or tailwind. Personally I can not see Wahoo being able to take this hardware feature any further - forget about future CdA implemtation. Now for the flaws: - the brightness of the screen is well below average for 2025. However, it then takes a turn for the worse when your body casts a shadow onto the computer & the screen (with sunglasses but full sun) becomes so dark that it is essentially unreadable. YET when riding through (solid) shade from say trees, the display does not darken as much - weird! And yes, I have tried all the different backlight settings & the difference is … minuscule. I now ride with it set to dark mode as it at least enhances the contrast of the numbers with respect to the rest of the screen background. - The touch interface is very reminiscent of the Garmin 1030 i.e. somewhere between badly laggy & just unresponsive. Thankfully it has buttons. The above two issues have badly tempted me to return the unit within the 30 day period but then I look at it whilst doing a ride (road & gravel) & I’m glad I own one.

I'm pretty happy with the Ace, Easy to read and has a ton of information. Compared to Garmins top of the range 1050 this is pretty good value for money.
