Shift Sleeper Sofa Reviews

It's the sleeper sofa that works the day and night shift with equal grace. First things first: Shift makes for a stylish, supportive couch that can fit just about anywhere, because this is Burrow, and so of course it comes in easy-to-manage boxes that you can fit up steep stairs and through narrow doors. But it really shines when you have guests: the seat unfolds to make a genuine queen-sized sleep surface, and the arm cushion inserts can be removed and slipped into standard pillowcases, saving space in your linen closet. With Shift, you're truly be the host with the most.

This is a nice little sofa for the price. Two people can easily sit on it, the fabric is really nice to the touch, textured with a rich color. It was challenging to put together with two of us, but eventually we got it done in about an hour and a half. The mattresses did have a little odor at first but everything aired out and opened up well. We had a guest the next day after we put it together and she said it was extremely comfortable. The side pillows that turn into the bed pillows are relatively flat, so if you have someone that wants a thicker pillow, keep that in mind. Overall would recommend.

I love the idea and look of the Shift Sleeper Sofa. The mattress seems comfy, but the two sides of the mattress are a slightly different height when unfolded which causes me to roll towards the sofa if I'm laying on the middle and I can feel it if my arm or leg go across the middle. So that subtracts at least one star. I've reached out to Burrow and they responded very quickly. I've sent a follow up email with requested pictures and will see what they say. I let the sofa "breathe" for the recommended 48 hours before testing it. The seat is very firm, which is another star off. It took me 2 hours mostly working by myself to unpack and put it together with a little help from my teen daughter when I needed to pairs of hands. There was an unpleasant smell that is typical of new furniture out of the box, but it dissipated within 72 hours with a fan and a window open some of the time. I love the look and idea of the sofa. I wish it was a little more plush, but it is okay for my purposes.

Both the design and color are beautiful, but the best thing about this sofa is that it is incredibly comfortable and folds out in to a queen sized bed. Assembly was a bit of a struggle, even with a partner: the instructions are clear and easy to follow, but the pieces themselves are cumbersome to handle.

I looked high and low for a sleeper sofa that would fit our small, narrow study and be a comfortable place to sleep. We just assembled the Shift and I am impressed by the quality. The mattress seems very comfortable. I could see the couch being less than perfect if it was our primary living room couch, but since we will mostly use it for lounging and sleeping it's a perfect fit.

We needed a sleeper sofa that could fit down a narrow stairway and the Shift sleeper sofa checked those boxes. However, I would say we are a bit disappointed with the quality of the sofa (fabric, pillows, inserts) especially given the price tag. ALSO, queen sheets DO NOT FIT. We are still trying to figure out if we should buy some King sheets or if some deep pocket queen sheets maybe would work but its a bit frustrating.

This has been the prefect solution for an office that needs to do double duty as an extra bedroom. So much easier and more comfortable than other sleeps sofas I’ve had.
