“An interesting alternative design to the more typical hinged rooftop kayak carries. The rigid base plate of each cradle attaches firmly to Rhino roof racks, and the flexible upper part bends effectively to fit the shape of my kayak. The one design flaw is that the flexible upper part can partially unclip from the rigid base plate without warning. This seems to happen when the plastic softens in the hot sun. Although the two parts can be clipped back together, they really shouldn't detach at all. The problem could be solved with a design that includes bolts or screws to hold the rigid and flexible parts together, rather than simply a clip.”
