“Unfortunately only had one day use of this gaff. After gaffing 2 20-40lb school grade BFT it was great. We then decided to chase bigger grade BFT. We reeled one to color and after a simple tail gaff following the head gaff we were able to lift it onto the deck, upon taking out the gaff I discovered that the hook of the gaff had bend. Do you guys do anything for this issue? Thanks, Trevor”
Trevor, All of our Gaff Hooks are made of the best 316 marine grade stainless steel and all hooks will cold work harden when re-bent. Our suggestion is to bend the hook back into shape using a bench vise or cleat. Next time a larger or heavier hook gaff might be a better choice for larger fish.
