“I use these gloves inshore and offshore, to grab tarpon, billfish, or any fish that I need a protective grip on. They dry out quickly in the sun and don't hold the stink like a lot of fishing gloves. I like that they have a Velcro locking wrist so they won't spin, and lock into place, as well as the fact that they're long enough that they cover my watch, so it can't accidentally get caught up in the action. Great gloves for whatever you do!”
“Having just completed our high season in the prolific waters of Costa Rica, where we released hundreds of sailfish this season using these gloves 90% of the time, I was thoroughly satisfied! With other goves we would go through at least two or three pairs while these are still hanging in there. They are starting to look a little rough with tears and wearing through in areas, but this is expected with all the abuse we pile on theme. We still have a few months to go and I am sure they will be tossed by then, but you can count on us having a few fresh pair to start the next season. “These gloves should be an essential component of every saltwater fisherman's gear. They're durable as can be, and protect you from everything from sharp bills to rough mouths. I handle a lot of tarpon, Goliath grouper and even sharks with these gloves on, and they really make a difference. They're also great to put on if you have to haul up an anchor that's stuck. They're pretty heavy-duty, so you don't feel intimidated to grab a leader with a big fish on the other end, and at the same time they have super gripping power, so when you put your hands in the mouth of a mammoth tarpon and lock your fingers only one of two things is going to happen: the fish is going to shake its head twice and then give up so you can remove the hook, or it's going to pull you overboard--and that's not going to happen. You are not going to lose your grip! After using these gloves for three months, I bought a spare pair so my customers can grab fish and hold them in the water for a photo. You will absolutely LOVE these gloves!”

“When I purchased these gloves , I was very hesitant to pay the 35.00 sticker price, but I figured that these must be a pretty awesome set of gloves for that money...Well in the first three weeks of using them two days a week for live lining rockfish, I found myself very impressed with these gloves. Then things began to unravel...LITERALLY. The front covers on the fingers came undone and then the thumb on my working hand glove literally wore out and split from grasping the rockfish. This cause a really nice scrape on my thumb from the mouth of the rockfish.The gloves however were the most comfortable gloves I have ever worn while fishing. My intention is to contact Aftco and try to get a replacement set. Maybe they will have an idea for a better kind of glove for the type of fishing I do. Maybe for less aggressive fishing I would think they would hold up better. Other than these issues though I really did enjoy these gloves. It should be noted that before I was even able to contact AFTCO that they had emailed me and arranged to replace my gloves with a pair that may be more suitable to my needs. This was totally unsolicited and speaks volumes for the obvious Awesome Customer Service shown by AFTCO.For tha they surely get 5 stars!!!”
