“I was fishing in Florida with a small piece of shrimp on a single hook and hooked a 5', 200# plus Goliath Grouper. Had just bought an Aftco Maxforce Shoulder Harness, since I'm getting 66 years old and not nearly as strong as I once was. 10' St Croix Salmon/ Steelhead rod, Diawa Whisker 1300, 20# power Pro. I thought I'd hooked the bridge abutment until it slowly started moving away. After a minute i knew i had hooked a monster, slipped on my new harness. Already had my Aftco Alijos Fighting Belt on. The harness held my rod at the angle where I had the most pressure on the fish, drag as tight as I dared. After 45 minutes of back and forth, he cut me off. With that harness on, i was relaxed and comfortable, it did all the work. I could let go of my rod, bend my knees a little and maintain ultimate pressure. No way without this harness!! I'll never be without this harness again if there's any chance I might hook a big fish. Catfish, stripers, reddish, cobia, offshore. It's a SERIOUS game changer.”
“It worked as advertised. Great back relief while bottom fishing on the Seminole Wind at a depth of 230' and deeper. Relieved the muscle strain while cranking in 20 plus pound Red Snapper and Black Grouper. We filled the box. High speed.trolled headed back in an snagged a 25 lb black finn Tuna. Spit the hook at the boat. Nevertheless the harness worked outstanding and recommend it to all offshore anglers.”
“The Max II worked better than any "shoulder" harness I have ever used. My experience with harnesses goes back to the mid-50's and linen line. Here we have Yellowtail that average 30+ lb and a 50 lb fish is not unusual. We fish mostly 20 lb mono on old Penn 20's. For the tournaments we fish 12 mono and use the black strap as the smaller reels do not have harness lugs. If inshore targets are Mako's or Bronze Whalers I fish 50 mono and, at 140 pounds and being 80,I can put a lot of drag on the sharks with the Max II as the pressure is evenly distributed.
