“The back pockets are too small. They will hold a wallet but the opening is so small, it makes it difficult to get it into the pocket. The waist fits well, but the legs are way to loose. A man three sizes bigger could fit the legs!”

“After buying a pair of these AFTCO Original Fishing Shorts at a local brick and mortar outdoor clothing store and wearing them a few days, I was hooked (pun intended). I went back to get another pair, but they were out of my size so I went online and purchased two more pair from the AFTCO website, then another pair when AFTCO gave me a discount coupon...they are that awesome! I will probably get another pair or two just to preclude a situation where they are no longer made. Every once in awhile you find the perfect thing and then find out the manufacturer discontinued the item. These shorts are that thing. The cut is perfect, roomy but not baggy, with a perfect inseam (just above the knee when standing); the elastic waistband allows for a comfortable fit; the pocket layout is practical and useful (deep side pockets so you won't worry about losing stuff), particularly the Cordura-reinforced fishing pliers/knife pocket just behind the right front pocket. The cargo pockets feature button closures (no flaps), as do the rear pockets (these have flaps). The nylon material is comfy and breathable and won't wrinkle nor absorb moisture/generate odors - a big plus in our hot, humid Florida summers, and a great plus for travel - you could wear these shorts for days with no wrinkles/no stink. Colorwise, the darker colors (black or bright navy) are more practical in not showing dirt, but the nylon material does not stain easily even in the lighter colors. These shorts run a bit large to size - I probably wear a size 37 - I can fit into the 36, but with slight snugness; I bought 38s - these are slightly large, but provide sufficient roominess without being baggy. Bottom line: these are the best all-around, everyday wear shorts I have ever owned. AFTCO hit this one out of the park. I will buy more.”
