“I really like the blue camo fabric and the inseam length. Not much else though. I've been fan (and wearer) of the M01 and M01L shorts for 20 years or more. Love the style, the fit, and the pockets and elastic waist - - everything but the length - - too short. I have written and lobbied for a longer version on numerous occasions (like an M01XL), to no avail. Tried these as a possible sub but I don't like the short rise, the slim fit, the lack of some elastic in the waist, and the cut-off at the top front pockets. These are young people's designer shorts - - not fishing shorts. And the seat is too thin to go with the very thin ripstop nylon and doesn't appear nearly as durable as the classic AFTCOs. Columbia makes a very nice pair of fishing shorts called the PFG III Blood and Guts that will likely replace my numerous pairs of M01 / M01L, or at least relegate them to yard work duties. I'll look for this review on your site, but I don't expect to see it. I'll keep looking for a M01XL too with a 10 or 11 inseam.”

“I've been a regular customer, wearing M01's and later M01L's for over 20 years. I keep suggesting that AFTCO make an even longer version of the originals, but they haven't, so I tried these. I don't like the fit, the low rise, the lack of elastic in the waist, or the oddly cut front pockets. I wore them once and then gave them to Goodwill. Perhaps some skinny teenager will find these stylish. I'm looking for another casual short to replace my AFTCOs.”
