“Original Wood Environment tin says that Prim'Oil must be used as a 'barrier' if a water based product, such as 'Wood Ageing Agent' has been used first. However, the same manufacturer has changed its instructions - so the user is left uncertain. However, I used it, it went on fine, dried as predicted, and didn't change the colour of the 'new but artificially aged' pine underneath. It was followed by 'Original Wood Environment' for the exact finish I hoped for. The only downside to Prim'Oil is that the tin does not say which solvent for brush cleaning. Don't do what I did and use white spirit, unless you want to throw your brush away. I guess 'thinners' was the one I should have used, and the tin should definitely spell this out.”
