Osmo UVIWAX is a SUN BLOCK FOR WOOD. It is a colourless, satin-matt finish with added UV protection for preserving interior timber against the damaging effects of ultra-violet rays.If natural or clear coloured wood is subject to intense sunlight it soons yellows and fades. The reason for this is that UV radiation from sunlight gradually degrades a natural substance in the wood called lignin. 2 coats of Osmo Uviwax considerably reduces the occurence of natural yellowing and helps to maintain a natural, light wood colour.Osmo UVIWAX is used as a sole finish for wall and ceiling panelling as well as interior doors and cupboards.Contains no biocidesConforms to EN71.3 safe for toysEnvironmentally friendly productWater Based1 litre covers approx 8 sq mtr per litre with 2 coatsAvailable in 0.75L and 2.5LFor further information and application methods, health and the environment see the technical data sheet in the downloads tab below

After considerable research I decided to buy Osmo Uviwax to treat the inside of our new log cabin. It isn't cheap but having spent a lot on the cabin we thought it was worth spending a bit more to treat it properly. It went on easily and dried quickly which meant I managed to finish the job much quicker than I thought I would. Coverage was exactly as it says on the tin and in the technical advice. It gives a nice matt finish to the wood and seems to seal it really well to protect against marks and dirt etc. How well it performs long term and against the effects of the sun, only time will tell !

I love this product for coating my wooden crafts without changing the natural colour of the wood :-).
