“First off all let me state that this bottle works, it really does change the water's flavor! With that aside, the flavor/smell (I call it flavell), vary on intensity. Strong citrus flavells change the taste, while softer flavells like watermelon or berries are more subtle. The bottle works great for using at home or if you work in an office setting where you have water readily available and have ample time to get refills. It really does encourage drinking more water because if you're a water hater the flavell really helps with tolerating it, and if you're a water lover then it enhances the taste without actually needing to add anything to the water itself and changing the composition of it.
There are a few downsides to these bottles however, mainly it's the size.The bottles are only available in two sizes: 16oz and 28oz. This works well if you're not a big water drinker and mostly drink 2-3 bottles a day. However if you're a big drinker then you're going to be needing to refill your bottle constantly. The plastic bottles I own work great otherwise, they don't keep things cold obviously but they're very durable and mine haven't dented or broken after a year of throwing them around. They do have a stainless steel bottle, however I only own the plastic 28oz bottle so I cannot review it in good faith. Another minor complaint is that if you're eating food with a strong smell, it will negate most of the flavell because of how the pods work.
Overall this is a great bottle, and like any tool, it has its uses. It's great for casual water drinking in your home routine or for your office or school. However, it's not meant to be used by everyone. If you're someone who drinks a lot, you should probably opt for a bigger bottle unless you like refilling constantly. If you're working or doing something somewhere that doesn't have easy access or time to refill a bottle in the middle of it (like construction, or hiking), then you might want to opt for a bigger bottle. If Airup makes a very niche bottle for the BIG drinkers like myself (128oz), or even just a larger bottle (64oz), then I would definitely re-buy and use it for absolutely everything.”
“This was the first pod I tried, overall it was a good experience. I will say the smell in the beginning is quite overwhelming and that's the only drawback, after a while it goes down and is not overwhelming.”
