Starting with the first page I was instantly hooked. I could not stop reading, the way it is beautifully written all throughout is amazing. My favorite part overall about Alabaster are the images. As a photographer, I just love when images tell a story. You almost feel like you too are in the book. The images are crisp and clear and definitely make the reading even more exciting. I am happy to be able to enjoy reading about my God through a book that brings me so much joy. I 10/10 recommend these and all others. I have read the Gospel of Mark and The Book of Psalms. I can't wait to finish this one!”

“At the time I am writing this review, the infectious disease known as COVID-19 has turn the world upside down. What is truly essential in this life? Does beauty matter? Does life have meaning?
These are difficult questions, and the book of Ecclesiastes shows us — amidst the fleetingness of life — to embrace the present, release anxious worried about the future, and trust in God. This book by Alabaster helped communicate these truths and help me understand our current situation in a way I have never experienced before.
As explained in the artist introduction by co-founders Brian Chung and Bryan Ye-Chung, the photos were specifically curated to reflect the themes that are found in Ecclesiastes. Ephemeral images and faint elements adorn the pages. Landscapes and natural materials help us explore this fleeting world. They caused me to stop and reflect on the beauty that God graciously gives us even in the temporary and momentary.
The book of Ecclesiastes by Alabaster has helped me to better understand and feel God’s Word during these difficult days. This book is not a distraction to help you pass the time.
