“The book of Jeremiah is the longest of the prophetic books of the Bible. It vulnerably reveals the personality of the prophet more than any of the other prophets.
Jeremiah was called as a prophet by God to warn Israel about the severe consequences of breaking their covenant with God through their idolatry and injustice. Sadly his words became true and he lived through the siege and distruction of Israel, and witnessed the exile personally.
Jeremiah is the prophet chosen to communicate the message of God’s justice and grace. The book provides a huge amount of warning and judgement but the final words conclude with words of hope for the future.
