I've had this unit installed for a few weeks now and so far I am more than happy with it. Does everything very well. I've installed the auto stop magnets for opening and closing points and they work perfect. Remote keychain unit works great...I've ionly tested the range of this remote to about 50 feet and they both worked well. So far, I'm very impressed.

I purchased this opener to install in my 30'X 6' metal gate and it works really well but not after I have to alter the metal base where the gear box and motor is attached. The construction of the mount is so far out that when you assmble it and try to disengaged the motor to operate it manually it be very hard to push the gate so I have to realligned the unit by putting shimms under the motor base and the gear box ounced it's all alligned it works great.

I first purchased this unit in Sept, 2011 and installed it with minimal problems. The instructions were OK but leave some minor doubts during the procedure. Eventually it worked well and performed as desired. In April it ceased working and I contacted the distributor who offered little to no assistance. The circuit board seemed to be the problem but they were mum on any warrantee. I called Amazon and they did some research, then offered to fix the problem by shipping me a NEW UNIT! I replaced the dead circuit board (actually just swapped the entire new unit) and now all is well again. The gate opens easily in the rain, snow and heat and my spouse is very happy.. Life is good. I am a very satisfied customer!

I was planning to make a sliding gate drive out of an old reversible drill and several bicycle chains until I found this operator. The price is hard to beat; I guess i would pay the same for parts for my dyi project. It's a dedicated kit, with options for expansion and numerous pieces of hardware intended to fit miscellaneous gates that I might have. Much better than anything i would build myself from a scratch. The gate needs to be stiff enough to take the chain tension, in my case 2" square pipe was enough. Of course, with accordance to Murphys laws, the fittings didn't fit my gate, because of the intervening midstile, but several cantilevered pipes cut and welded together allowed for installation and proper positioning of the chain and magnets on my gate. I poured the concrete foundation (2 bags 80lbs) with embedded bolts and placed metal conduits to the additional circuit breaker. The drive base was welded in place to avoid theft. The drive operated once energized; there
