I bought this to install with my ALEKO awning. It works way better than I had expected. I didn't have much hope, since it was so cheap, but I can assure you it is very easy to install, easy to set, and easy to use. In 3 years of daily opening and closing, this has never let me down. Trust me, using the long rod to open and close the awning will get old!!!Pro tip: before installing, make sure to bungee the existing awning closed. Then plug in this motor and push the open and close button. From there, make your adjustments and get it to "stop" in the closed position. Install as usual, then hit the open button and you can fine tune how far you want it open. It is really pretty simple. пїЅ

I bought two of these and they work perfectly after about a month. Sure nicer than the daily manual cranking in and out we had been doing. Seems like they have a high gear ratio so move slowly with plenty of torque. My awnings are actually a different brand with a larger diameter tube in which to mount the motor than the Alekos. I carefully made diameter adapters for both ends of the motor for a good snug fit and all seems good. I would not recommend that unless you are good at fabricating. The fixed side of the motor mount fit directly as is. Contrary to some other reviews, there are instructions. Once you get past the typical laughable translations, most of it can be figured out. The limit adjustments are confusing and tweaky, but worked well once I had a handle on it. Before inserting the motor in the tube, I plugged it in and played with the rotation directions and limits. Also, before inserting the motor all the way, be sure that it is in between the limits, i.e. it will turn either direction. пїЅ

I told the wife before she left for work that I would likely be working on this project for the entire day. After 90 minutes I am having a cold beverage sitting under my (recently) motorized awning. Yes the instructions are horrible, but anyone with any mechanical aptitude can install this easily. Simply follow the instructions that Sal posted on here and you should have no problems at all. пїЅ
