This Wireless Solar Powered Wind Sensor provides protection for your awnings by automatically retracting and opening based on the weather. When winds are strong, your awning will automatically close to protect itself. Once sunshine returns, your motor will be triggered to open your awning, so your outdoor space will be kept cool and shady. Highly recommended for all awnings to offer constant protection – even when you are not at home. The sensor comes with 3 different wind sensitivity settings and 4 different sun sensitivity settings so you can choose the perfect settings for you and your house. Includes Solar Powered Wind/Sun Sensor, mounting screws and instructions. Completely Solar Powered. Product Dimensions: 10.2L x 4.1W x 1.9H inches.

“Works fine. Not sure of the rain sensor though. I sprayed water after everything was done and the awning did not retract. But the sun and wind part works fine.”

“Overall, I am pleased with the WIreless Awning Sensor. The biggest shortcoming is the inability to disable it. When winds are intermittantly gusting, the awning continually extends and retracts. Also, when its raining but the sky is bright, the awing extends when I want it retracted. When I don't want the awning to automatically extend, I have to unplug the awning or climb a ladder and put opaque tape over the photodetector. Neither is convenient.”

“Works great! Now I never have to remember to deploy/retract the canopy or worry about wind. The only down side is you have to reprogram it to not auto-deploy during the rainy season.”
