This unit is easy to install. During the initial setup, connected it on the A side of the LM137 to use button A on remote. It was not working till I found out that pressing B on remote opens the gate. The circuit board label is reverse.

Wondered if this would really work with my very old Craftsman opener, but it did. It was a little more than just connecting the wires, though. The old opener used the same pair of wires to supply 28 V to its receiver, and to signal the motor unit to open or close the door. So it took a resistor and a large electrolytic capacitor to drop the voltage to what was needed by this unit, and to keep power to this unit on momentarily when the 28 V was shorted out by the relay. The only real problem was the very limited range with this unit. When mounted to the front wall of the garage, the car had to be within a couple of feet of the door for the cars built in transmitter to work. The remote that came with the unit gave a couple of feet more range. The antenna inside the unit was simply a coil of wire. Straightening out the coil, and letting the wire stick up out of the case increased the range to the end of the driveway.

I'm very pleased with my new sun shade. Seems to be a quality product. Exactly what I wanted.

After installing I was able to hook up my Aleko gate opener to my Homelink. Wiring was a little confusing at first, but once I got it figured out it worked like a charm. Only concern is it only comes with one remote, so if you lose that remote you are in trouble.

Just ok. You have to be next to the gate for it to work. Just better than nothing.
