“This is still a great option in 2017. I ordered from the cheapest seller listed. This remote works perfectly with my oldish Genie opener (probably late 90s). Came with a battery installed and programming was exactly as described in the instructions, only took a minute using the buttons on the opener unit. Range seems good -- I keep it on my keychain and it reaches from the back door of my apartment building, which is exactly what I was looking for. My old remote is grey and has a single button, but it's temperamental and the rubber button is deteriorating. If this remote holds up, I will probably buy another one to replace my old one.”

“Don't get me wrong, this opener works. I was pleased that it was compatible with my seemingly ancient garage door opener. However, the buttons are terrible. They are mushy and they do not seem to press reliably.The button is the primary interface of the opener. I don't know why they didn't use a button design with and obvious and satisfying click.”
