“I received the allay lamp for free through an instagram giveaway. I love this lamp a lot! It’s beautiful and simple, the green is very relaxing and I love the ability to dim and brighten it easily, as well as the white or green option. I find it very soothing while I have a migraine, however I did. It personally receive reduction in migraine days from it.”
“I purchased the Allay Lamp because I suffer from migraine. The green light it emits is very relaxing and when I have a migraine attack it is the only light that doesn't bother me. Also, although it obviously can't work miracles, when the pain is not too severe it gives me some relief. I use it daily and I hope that with time it will also help me reduce the frequency of migraines. I think that the "regular" light mode is also very pleasant because it's not too white. Moreover, it keeps the charge for a long time. I'm really glad I bought it!”
“After four months of using my Allay lamp through several migraines, and testing it on migraine-free days, I am impressed with its performance and grateful that it exists! I am extremely light-sensitive during a migraine attack, and the portable Allay lamp has enabled me to prepare food, clean up the kitchen, do general tasks and read during a migraine. As a bonus, using my Allay lamp I no longer worry about stubbing my toes on furniture as I stumble around in the dark during a migraine attack! On migraine-free days, I use my Allay lamp in its soothing green light setting as a background light as I listen to podcasts, and the regular white-light option as a soft background light as I watch movies in the evening. I am thrilled with the Allay lamp and the freedom and comfort that it has given me on migraine days, and the versatility of this lamp on migraine-free days. I give this lamp, and the Allay customer service team, a resounding five stars. If you are photophobic when you have a migraine or light-sensitive like I am even on migraine-free days, this lamp is worth its price in gold and diamonds. I am so happy to have the Allay in my migraine toolkit. A+++”
“My wife has chronic migraines, the longest one lasting just over 8 years and counting. Blue light is a trigger, and with this lamp, she has been able to rejoin our family and to see more time with our 7-year-old daughter! I can't express enough how effective this has been.
The portability has been wonderful as well! My wife gets infusion treatments for her migraine, and they often times need to turn on the bright lights to help with them. This lamp allows the infusion centers to do what they need while still allowing my wife to be a part of the conversation without closing her eyes or wearing dark sunglasses! Overall, this is a great product, and the auto-switching between white and green light is SUPER helpful!”
“I love my Allay lamp and use it every single day! I have chronic migraine and this is the only light source that does not trigger my symptoms. Moreover, it actually decreases my migraine related pain and reduces my anxiety. At night I carry it around the house to get my brain and body ready for sleep and it helps so much. I highly recommend trying it!”
“The Allay Lamp is one of my most cherished tools for chronic migraines. It truly helps with photophobia which reduces the overall pain and burden associated with each attack. I have been experiencing episodic migraines since 1992, chronic migraines since 2009, and I welcome any non-pharmacological intervention so that I can conserve acute medication days.
Regular green light bulbs do not compare to the benefits of this narrow-band green light. Special thank you to Dr. Rami Burstein for his research and development of this tool. I hope that one day it will be possible to ship to Canada so that more individuals with migraine can benefit from this.”
“The Allay light is my number one tool in my migraine toolbox or should I say light in my light box? I have had migraines for over 27 years, since the ripe young age of 8 years old. I have had chronic migraines since I was 22, which is a lot of freaking pain for someone who should be out enjoying the thrills of life. There were not many products on the market back in 2010 that were specifically for alleviating migraines. Back then we just turn off all the lights and used glow sticks and torches.
Most of us migraine sufferers know how to suffer in silence as we are known to frequent dark and quiet rooms. But when you suffer from chronic migraines practically every day, you can’t stay in a dark room during every attack unless you live life as a vampire hanging out in his grandma’s basement. Also certain lights can actually trigger a migraine (sunlight also triggers vampires). The Allay lamp is an ingenious little invention that helps alleviate light sensitivity by using adjustable green light therapy. Who would’ve thought that hanging out with green lights could change lives? All those grassroots Green Party pedaling youths probably knew it!
When I am in bed with a migraine and still need to do work I use the Allay lamp as it does not hurt my eyes/head like all other light sources. I also wear my sunglasses at night (so the light that’s right before my eyes). It has a real neat feature called “the upside down” (no connection to the gateway in Hawkins, IN) which like it’s namesake, you turn it upside down and the Allay utilizes regular light. It’s called a double whammy!!! Both sides have a touch sensor to adjust the amount of light needed, as well as an on/off touch sensor. The touch sensor is so great for turning on light in the middle of the night as you don’t need to fidget your way to a switch when you need to get up and pee but don’t want to fully wake up. There is also a detachable shield (King Missile in my head), which you can use on one side of the light and direct however much light you need or completely cover it so that there is no direct light hitting your face. It’s all about the ambient light!
I have had my Allay lamp for almost 2 1/2 years now! I somehow managed to damage the usb port as I am I am unable to plug the cable in to charge it (did I mention the Allay is cordless and chargeable? Meaning you can carry and use it anywhere!).
So now I am shit out of luck without my number one migraine tool. I gotta tell you my migraines are so much worse with a regular light compared to the one and only Allay green light! I even went out and bought one of those cheap regular green light bulbs they sell around Halloween and screwed it in my bedside lamp all by myself (insert how many people does it take to screw in a light bulb joke here). It definitely is not the same as the Allay light. I’ve been resorting to covering my lamp with bandanas and scarves with tassels trying to be all fancy and give off those groovy hippie pad vibes. But it still hurts my head so much. I NEED my Allay!
So if you have light sensitivity with your migraines, and especially if you have chronic migraines, get yourself one of these bad boys!!!! You will 100% not regret it. Well you might regret it if you’re prone to regrets and all that nonsense, but your head will probably like it. So forget about all those candles, LED lights, red lanterns, fluorescent lights from hell, the Sun and all it’s burning nonsense, and even the moon with its dark side and waxing and waning. Go out and get yourself an Allay from the comfort of your own bed delivered to your very own doorstep, if you even have a front door. You might have to get your mom to bring it down to the basement where you live in the dark awaiting the Green Lantern.”
