With Trifexis, I cover the pill with peanut butter and my toy poodle swallows it with no problem. If I don't put any food to cover up the scent, she will not eat it. My Shiba Inu, on the other hand, is extremely particular, and no food covering will seem to work. So as per advice from my vet, I simply wet the tablet with water a little bit, hold it with thumb and middle finger, place it deep inside my dog's mouth as far as I can and then use my index finger to push it in to make him swallow it.
