Anything from a strange cat in the neighborhood to separation anxiety to not getting attention when she wants it can set her off. Our vet recommended this collar (she also charged $17 for it! It's a lot cheaper on this site.) This collar worked immediately. Our kitty mellowed out right away, and the spraying stopped. The collar only lasts about one month, though.
