“We were very skeptical about this medication because we had tried a bunch of calming treats and the Thundershirt and pheromone sprays and even essential oils in desperation to calm our dog's acute, crippling anxiety during rain, storms, fireworks, etc. Nothing helped. Sileo, however, is honestly a miracle drug. Our 60 lb dog goes from shaking, whining, and scratching at everything to walking around like nothing is wrong or even sleeping within 15-30 minutes. But it does not necessarily have a strong or dangerous sedative effect like some prescribed pills like acepromazine do. Sileo is best when given slightly in advance of anxiety-causing events, but it does work well for us after our dog has already shown signs of anxiety. Only downside is the cost. We only get 3-4 doses from each syringe. The price stings a bit, but it's totally worth it for her comfort.”
