My vet originally prescribed the 60mg dosage of Galliprant for my 16+ year old dog with osteoarthritis in her hips. Giving half in morning and half at night, her pain and lameness went away. Great! However, my vet left that company and Allivet had to get a new authorization to renew the prescription. My new vet prescribed 20mg for the refills, used once a day only, stating it was correct for my dog's weight. Well, my poor old girl has returned to almost daily bouts of pain, lameness and immobility. I'm doubling the dose myself now, hoping to get her comfortable again, and will have to work this out with the vet so Allivet can sell me the 60mg dosage as before. As they say, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it!"
