“Love the platform. The only biggest thing it is missing is a priceline that moves with price across the entire chart(s) . . . Wish that was built in.”
“I had previously used the paid non-.NET version of Multicharts, and like the look and feel of the software environment. It is very flexible and has many, many options to create the work environment you want using the extensive selection of charts and entry screens, as well as a very wide array of analysis tools.
Previously, in an application I wrote, I had an issue with a scope bug that I could not resolve when using the paid non-.NET version. Using the .NET version, requiring a re-write of the code resolved this issue. Note that the .NET version requires using C# or VB. I do not know VB, but am familiar with C-like languages, and now use C# in Multicharts for custom work. C# is very verbose and strongly typed, so just testing out an idea is more of a challenge than using the simple paid non-.NET version, but my belief is the code I produce in C# is more reliable.
If you are looking for a great discount futures broker and the best software available (FOR FREE), there is no better solution than AMP Futures.”
“Great tool for algo trading and backtesting. The only bad thing might be that it might be outdate with the free version being 12 and current multichart version being 15.”
“The application is overall reliable as a free software, good drawing functions on the chart, but the CQG data I use with it has problems every 2-3 months, and when there is problem, you CANNOT TRADE. I was usually the first to call AMP and AMP rep. would always say, no sir, all our thousands of users is fine, and wait a few minutes, they will acknowledge there is a problem.”
