“Overall its a decent software. I can do basic charting/orders, and level 2 data loads fast. The ability to do mouse orders with attached bracket orders is great. I also like that I can code and automate trades.
Some complaints from me:
- Theres no quick way to do a fast Stop Limit Order. If I want to do a stop limit order, I need to go to the order entry panel, input the stop price and limit price. Compared to just a single click with stop orders or limit orders this is very slow. Even if I could just click a price level and automatically fill a stop limit order with that price as both the stop and limit order I would be very happy.
- The quantower algo documentation is sparse and theres really no way to verify whether my coded strategy works properly. My only real option is to paper trade it, but even then due to exchange order restrictions the paper trade code might submit orders that don't work on live. I really wish they would improve documentation on how the coding works, its very annoying to find a bug in real time and then I need to manually manage my order to fix it.”
“It is a very nice and professional trading platform. I believe that with smoother performance, it could be even better. Another essential feature would be built-in risk management tools. For example, if a trader reaches their daily loss limit, the platform should automatically disable trading for the rest of the day. The same should apply when a daily profit target is reached.
I believe these features would be extremely valuable for traders, helping them manage risk, maintain discipline, and avoid emotional trading.”
“I love Quantower. The layout is logical and the charts look great. It has many advanced trading tools that are easy to configure. I like it that charts and tools are not confined to a single window. I use 4 monitors and position tools and charts over the 4 monitors.
The only thing I can complain about is I wish I could slightly enlarge the font in the side trading window. Also, I wish it did not collapse multiple futures positions into one combined position. I like to scale into and out of trades. Collapsing multiple positions into one position makes it difficult to scale out of multiposition trades.”
