“Okay, first the "good": I nterface mostly love the interface and functionality for placing and closing trades. I started with Sierra Chart when AMP was offering it for free. When Sierra Chart started charging, I checked AMP's free alternatives, but none of them equaled Sierra Charts for the look, design, visual appeal of Sierra Chart. Of course, it could simply be that I had become so used to Sierra Chart that "nothing felt the same" and I did not want to go through the process of "unlearning" Sierra Chart and learning a new platform.
Now the "bad":
1. TradingView is free. Sierra Chart used to be free, now charges, so obviously, I would love Sierra Chart to be free again, too.
2. Trendline alerts. TradingView allows me to draw a trendline on a chart, right-click the trendline, and set an alert to make a noise when price touches the trendline. Even better (maybe Sierra Chart already does this and I just don't know how?) would be to set alerts for all Sierra Chart indicators. For example, having a noise sound when price touches the one of the "boundaries" of the parabolic indicator. Or price exceeds Average True Range. Or price touches the zero line of the MACD indcator. Or slope changes in the Woodies Moving Average (or, actually, any moving average.)
3. The biggest flaw - where TradingView has it all over Sierra Chart - is Sierra Chart's lack of a cell phone app that would allow me to receive alerts and enter trades. TradingView allows me to set, for example, a trendline alert, have it be reflected on my cell phone. NO NEED TO SIT IN FRONT OF MY COMPUTER ALL DAY! With TradingView, I can go out - shopping, visiting friends, etc. - and if price hits a certain point, an alert will sound on my cell phone and I can open the TradingView app and initiate or close a trade, as the case may be, and if I want, initiate a new one. Sierra Chart really needs to create a cell phone app that at least allows one to set and receive alerts and open and close trades.
4. My trading strategy sometimes is that if a stop-loss is hit, immediately to open a new trade in the opposite direction. Currently, in those situations, I have to keep my eyes on the computer screen so that I can see when a stop-loss is hit and then I manually open a new position in the opposite direction. It would be so much better to add to the list of stop options in the trading window, a "stop and reverse" option that, when the stop loss point is hit, automatically closes the position AND OPENS A NEW, IDENTICAL POSITION IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION.”
“- Highest quality data feed and display.
- Always stable, with very few outages.
- Very logical operation.
- The support board is sometimes a little sluggish. Customer requests are rarely implemented.
- Offers a great deal of flexibility.
- Very good price/performance ratio.”

Sierra chart is unfortunately not very beginner-friendly due to its range of functions.”
“I love SC the only suggestion would be esp for beginners have some options to make it easier to start out on setting up like an out of the box better set up. Personally I love SC just a lot to learn compared to other simpler platforms. I know Think or Swim has very friendly and more than willing to jump on your screen and help and answer any questions for free and they dont charge nothing for there platform I think that would be an excellent option for SC and would greatly help customers out tremendously esp when you dont have tons of time to search and try to find what your issue is in there library or watch a long video. Lets face it most people are very busy and just dont have tons of time figure everything out and esp a lot of the little things that can wreck you whole day. My biggest suggestion would be online on screen help with an expert to really help out so you dont have to spend tons of time people dont have esp since people pay quit a bit for the platform esp compared to free with Schwab. Love you guys have a great day that is my honest view. Customer service to help everyone out. I would not be on SC if it had not been for all the help from others I have been fortunante to have friends or I would not be on SC.”
“Best platform and super fast. Would be nice if I was able to log in to my account at once on 2 separate devices as currently it logs me out on one when I log into another.
Does also look abit outdated compared to other platforms out there but very simple to use when you get the hang of it.”
