“Easy to use, fast to place the order, best thing I like is that sierra chart can be viewing multiple charts and windows , Good to have sufficient info for making a trade decision . I definitely recommend it to all traders”
“Sierra is fantastic for data and setting once you fingure out where to look. It can take a long time to figure out how to use it though, but once you do its a fantastic platform.”
“Visually, it's the ugliest platform I've used and that's a problem when marriaging visual data with technical data. The easier it is on the eyes, the better your brain can process. If it's ugly/bad and abrasive to the eyes, then it makes data/technical visualization more difficult to process and understand.
The lack of priority for UX/UI (User Experience) is surprising considering it's 2024 and the interface & platform feels like Windows 98. For example, you have a "Charts" menu, but you have all your "Reload/Recalculate Charts" options in the "Edit" menu. It's 100% clear that Sierra Charts never had UX/UI done to their platform (I can guarantee this). And because of this, it makes Sierra Charts a bit overwhelming, confusing, and time-consuming to figure out how to modify your charts, chartbooks, graphics, etc with ease.
I know people using ToS because of the UX/UI. It's visually a thousand times better but also much easier to modify your charts. To add, it also has video and a news feed, something Sierra Charts should be incorporating into their platform automatically.
I gave it 3 stars because of the abilities it has with data. But...do I really need all of it's capabilities? The answer is "no".
Lots and lots of companies are starting their own platform software programs and it's just right around the corner before a new company comes in with a much better looking platform with the same capabilities. And when that happens, it will be left in the dust like a lot of 90s Windows programs.”
