“I really like TradingView. Lots of chart customization. However, the only thing I hate, which leads them to having three stars instead five is order execution. I have particular order setup for my trades and sometimes when the trade is executed it's puts in the wrong amount. Ex. I have a buy market order for 15 ticks and it would put in 14. Sometimes it's over, sometimes it's under. It happens enough times that I have to double check each time the order is executed. I've been using Tradingview for over two years so I am very reluctant to change. It's easy to use and second nature to change my order when this happens. This is something to watch out for if you're new.”
“I only use Trading to trade with AMP and I'm quite content with it.
A few things could be improved though.
- On MT5 onder the history page (on mobile) you are shown the realized P&L of executed trades (entry and close with profit/loss). On Tradingview you only get a list of sepperate trade executions, not bundled like with MT5. I asked Tradingview support recently about this but it is isn't available for AMP.
-The CQG log-in credentials aren't saved on the Tradingview apps (windows and android). When i get logged out I have to copy them every time to log-in. Unlike with other brokers with AMP you get a CQG window when you click to log-in to enter you credentials. Maybe that's the reason why they aren't pre-filled. Super annoying.
-There is also one extra order type I would like to be added. A 'close only order'. When I have a position of multiple contracts I sometimes don't want to close the entire position at one price. When in position you can with a long for example add an sepperate sell limit order holder the TP order of the trade, but if the position is stopped-out and you aren't watching the sepperate sell limit order stays which could unintentionally open a short if not cancelled. I know on Tradingview you can enable 'brackets' mode but if you add to your position it shows it as a sepperate trade with its own stop-loss which clutters the chart.
If you can work on these points my Tradingview experience would be 5 stars!”
“It is easy to learn. It is great to trade with charts you already marked up. That said, there are several bugs that can empty you account. You need to play with it for months before you understand where the pitfalls lie. For example, the price you see is often delayed by half a second which is a big problem for scalpers.”
“Being able to trade with tradingview is awesome since it's the only platform I use , but however I experienced some lagging when placing an market order , often times I need to hit twice sometimes 3 times on my PC , hope this can be fixed , few points difference can be huge..”
“I've been using TradingView for years, it's fantastic. I've only recently started trading futures at AMP, through TradingView. The integration is very good. I only just compared it to CQG, and honestly while CQG has a lot of "power user" features, there's just a ton of "fit and finish" in TradingView that I'm not going to give up. However -- not all AMP futures are tradeable on TradingView. I was very frustrated to learn that I can't trade the Nikkei 225 (Osaka) futures through AMP on TradingView. I have to use CQG for that, which, as I said, is a step down in overall user experience. Fix the Nikkei 225 problem, whatever it is, please!”
