“Product review of the AmpCaddy Portable Bluetooth Speaker
I am very pleased to have the privilege of reviewing the AmpCaddy portable bluetooth speaker unit designed for golfers but certainly not limited to only golf course use. First off I am not here to debate whether or not music should be played on the course during a round of golf or not. I know that there are strong opinions out there both for and against it. The one thing I will say is that I personally would be okay with music on the course if it is done in a respectful and proper manner. As for everything there is a time in a place for this and that is a personal decision one must make.
As with many of my reviews I like to give a brief history of the product and when and where it originated from. The original idea for what would become known today as the AmpCaddy started back in 2011 at Los Robles Greens Golf Course in Southern California. A group of golfers during their Friday afternoon 'Pot-Game' decided to enhance their golfing experience with the addition of music. Three years later the AmpCaddy team was formed to launch the first portable bluetooth speaker designed to mounted to any golf cart. The first version known as GolfBeatz made out of Austin, Texas came about in 2014. Some of the team's key design characteristics was to make a speaker that was durable, had high audio quality, a superior battery life and of course made to stand up in the elements of being outdoors. I feel as though that nailed everyone of those keys points right on the head with this speaker.
Here are some of the specifics on the AmpCaddy:
Portable Bluetooth Speaker Unit with detachable mount
Swivel the speaker towards the riders in the cart or point it towards the tee box
Rechargeable Lithium Battery with 8 hour lifespan on a single charge
Bass Booster w/ two speakers
USB/MINI USB Charging Cable
Auxiliary Cable
33' signal range
Weatherproof
Shockproof
Approximate speaker is size 7" x 1" x 1 "
The AmpCaddy speaker can be mounted to just about any you can possibly imagine. I found the bracket/clamping device very easy to use. Attaching it to the roof framing of the golf cart is a breeze with the quick working clamping device. I also was able to attach it to my golf pull cart and golf bag as well. So this speaker isn't designed solely for the riding golfer. The mount will not damage the surface you are attaching to as the bracket is lined with a thin soft foam. The speaker is specifically designed for outdoor use with it's sound trajectory and its ability to swivel almost 90 degrees horizontally. This allows the golfer to direct the sound to a more specific location and direction. While riding direct the sound inward towards the riders/golfers, while on the tee or fairway the speaker can be swiveled outwards. The speaker is a bluetooth device so syncing up with your phone or audio device is a very simple and a short process. If you don't happen to have a bluetooth device the speaker can be connected via an auxiliary cord which is provided. The sound quality out of the AmpCaddy is excellent, you won't be disappointed. I wouldn't limit the use of this speaker to just the golf course. Any outdoor activity where you would like to bring along some music is a perfect fit. The beach, pool, backyard bbq, you name it the AmpCaddy would enhance the event. The AmpCaddy comes with a two-year warranty on the speaker and a lifetime warranty on the mount.
Recapping some of the key design characteristics of the AmpCaddy, things I think are important to know are as follows. The speaker is weatherproof and will work fine in a light rain. Who is out there golfing in a downpour? My guess is if you happen to get caught in one it would be a good idea to secure your speaker in as dry a space as possible. The speaker is fully portable and can be mounted to just about anything out there. The battery life on a full charge is eight hours which would last about two rounds of golf. The charge time for the device is approximately one to two hours using the micro USB charging cable which is provided. The mount does detach from the unit so if you wanted to use the speaker in a indoor setting you have that capability.
So in closing I would suggest giving the AmpCaddy a try if you are looking to enhance your golfing experience with music. Bring it to the range during your next practice session to help you relax. Please always be respectful of other golfers and people around you at all times when it comes to the volume of the music. You can check out AmpCaddy on all of their social media sites, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Most of all have fun playing golf and who knows maybe a little music will help you out and your handicap will improve.

“The ampcaddy is a reasonably priced, top notch sounding, easy to install mobile speaker that brings your favorite music and tunes to your favorite golf course. A must for any golfer!!”
“wasn't as impressed as I thought I would be.. Enjoy having a speaker that mounts, but the mount itself is relatively small and I was concerned it was going to slide off the front post. also, speaker stays at an angle and should have a pivot mount at the base as well to level out the speaker. Ended up mounting this to the handle on the roof because it was more sturdy there. I did bring a back up speaker since I got this just days before we played in our outing, and the sound was OK from Ampcaddy, but for volume we use the Bose speaker that I had for back up.. If I had to do again,, probably would go a different route or would like to see their old design for mounting.. the 1/2" bracket was not much to hold onto the 3/4" front uprights.....”
“It is so much fun to have music on the course! The sound quality is great and it doesn't carry too far so you're not bothering other folks on the course. Everyone gets a kick out of it. Worth every penny!”
“This is the best solution for music on the golf cart!! The unique mount makes it durable for bumps and the sound is great. Also has a long life battery. We LOVE this speaker! Thanks for making such a great product!”
