The interchangeable Rx system is designed for both the Outside the Wire (OTW) goggle, Pivlock Echo, and Aegis eyeshield. A single, integrated Rx carrier can be used in either product. The Smith Optics Elite Rx carrier is engineered to accommodate corrections up to +/- 11 diopters. The kit comes with everything you will need to bring Rx into your OTW goggle or Aegis eyeshield. Rx system when installed will not affect ballistic quality of the eye protection.

So they work. I’ve been in a constant search for a solution of affective eye pro for RX wearers. This is my latest attempt. The pros of the insert is that you can use them in the OTW goggles and the Pivlock eye shields. But I would not recommend them for the eye shades systems. The problem is that the nosepiece for the insert makes the gap around the lenses too big. I can actually poke myself in the eye with my thumb. Not good enough seal for airsoft. *IMPORTANT FOR MULTIFOCAL PERSCRIPTIONS*: the lenses are too small for progressive or bifocal options(yes, I’m old). The size also means that you don’t have much correction in the peripheral. Walking around in areas that are uneven ground takes time to get use to. Looking down without moving your head is not an option. I don’t know why they couldn’t make the insert larger or made out of a clear plastic. If you are looking for a prescription insert for the Smith goggles, I would suggest this as an option. I would also suggest using the Turbo fan model. The extra lenses will fog up on you quicker than a pair of contacts. But, I must say, that my search goes on for the perfect eye pro for the “blind”.

I haven't gotten the chance to test these things out in the Carolina heat, but my first impressions can't be better. These sit well on the face, don't put pressure on the nostrils, and run relatively quiet. These things should be on everyone's list.
